Through the efforts of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos State fire service, seven bodies have beeen recovered from the pipeline explosion in Abule Ado, Trade Fair axis of Lagos State on Sunday morning, March 15, 2020.
There are however fears that more bodies maybe buried under the rubble of building that collapsed under the impact of the blast.
At least, 15 corpses, including a family of 4 have been recovered the scene of the pipeline explosion of Abule Ado of Lagos state.
The National Emergence Management Agency (NEMA) said, at least 60 injured students of Bethlehem Girls College have been taken to the Nigerian Navy Hospital in Ojo Cantonment for treatment.
According to the Acting Co-ordinator of NEMA in Lagos, Ibrahim Farinloye, who disclosed this to journalists, a couple and their two sons were caught in the explosion on their way to church at about 9 am on Sunday morning.
According to him, over 50 buildings including Bethlehem college and a popular hotel were damaged in the explosion.
Emergency workers have responded to the areas affected by the explosion, said to be caused by the disruption of an NNPC oil pipeline, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
