Oshiomole defends Buhari, as He signs new Bill from London

National chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had on Tuesday, November 5 said President Muhammadu Buhari can preside over the affairs of the country from anywhere in the world.

He made the statement while reacting to the negative reactions from Nigerians that trailed President Buhari signing a recent bill in London.

The APC chairman led members of the ruling party’s National Working Committee on a visit to the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan and other principal officers of the APC. It was during this visit that he made the statement in Abuja.

His words: “I think by signing into law at the Nigerian House in London, it shows that the wherever the president is, he is presiding over Nigeria and with the benefit of modern technology we have passed the Mungo Park era.

“So signing it in London for me has also made several statements. Namely, that where ever national interest is involved, the president is on duty and wherever he is he is presiding.

“I also salute his assenting to the bill as fast as he did and even at the Nigerian House in London.”

President Buhari had on Monday, November 4 signed the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract, PSC Amendment Bill into law.

The action got criticisms flying in from every nook and cranny of the nation, as many were of he opinion that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo could easily have done the job.

Buhari while embarking on this recent trip failed to handover to Osinbajo as required by the Nigerian constitution. ‘
