FG: ASUU strike is not a threat to the reopening of universities

    The federal government has in a statement said that efforts are being made to resolve the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which started before the lock down in March.

    According to The Tribune report, this statement was made by the minister of state for education, Chukwuemeka Nwjiuba at the presidential task force COVID-19 briefing, on Thursday, August 14.

    The Minister also expressed optimism that there would be compromise between the Federal Government and ASUU before the resumption of universities.

    The minister of state for education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, also stated during the daily briefing on COVID-19 that once the PTF assesses all the data, the Federal Government would inform Nigerians when it is safe to reopen schools.
