Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), has been reportedly suspended by the party at his home state, Edo,
A vote of no confidence was said to have been passed on Oshiomhole by the 18 local government chairmen of APC in the state, following the alleged roles he was said to have played in the crisis rocking the APC in Edo.
The action was confirmed by the Edo state party chairman and assistant state sacretary.
“Consequent on the development, the state executive committee has adopted the vote of no confidence passed on him and the subsisting suspension order from the organs of the party in the state,” a statement by the duo said.
According to the party’s chairman, the suspension of Oshiomhole was to avoid a repeat of the incident that happened in Zamfara ahead of the 2019 elections which made the APC not able to field candidates.
“Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is the one behind the crisis in Edo APC. We have passed a vote of no confidence on him and he stands suspended from the party.
“We don’t want what happened in Zamfara State or other parts of the country to happen in Edo state,” the party said.
