There is anxiety in Sokoto after the state reported about 170 suspected cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) as the deadly infection moves beyond borders and territories.
Sokoto state Covid-19 rapid response team led by Dr Ali Inname made this known on Wednesday, April 15, Daily Trust reports.
In a phone conversation with the publication, Inname said his team received the alert and has set the wheel of on move.
Inname, who doubles as the commissioner of health in the state, however, said eighteen (18) cases have been tested and they came out negative.
He assured that the Sokoto state government, with the effort of Governor Aminu Tambuwal, will embark on house to house routine in search of people who just returned from Lagos and Abuja.
Lagos and FCT are the two major places where the virus is hitting hard with 232 and 58 cases respectively reported as at the time of this report.
