On Tuesday, January 21, there was a gun battle between some policemen and Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state.

The police officers who belong to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) killed many insurgents during the fierce engagement and succeeded in recovering some weapons and guntrucks.

The SARS personnel revealed that their victory came after a fierce gun battle with the insurgents in the Mainok Village of Maiduguri.

Recounting their experience to top Nigerian Army personnel, the officers said that the SARS men gallantly and bravely defeated the terrorists and recovered some weapons from them, including about four guntrucks.

The SARS personnel said that although some of the terrorists escaped during the operation, a lot of them were actually killed.

The police officers called for a collaboration with the NA in the battle against terrorism in the country, especially in the northeastern region.
